Cant install Windows XP!

Hi all,

I have a spare Fujitsu Siemens PC, I want to reinstall windows but no matter what I try, it will not load from disc (on bootup) - I think it must be a secuirty feature. The keyboard locks on 'press a key to boot from disc' and does no operate again untill after that screen.

Any ideas?

Nope PS2, like i said, up until that point the keyboard is fine. Can access bios etc. It just on that 'press any screen to load from disc' its not usable. I think it must be a security feature?

You can always create a 3.5" boot disk to get into dos and install that way.

Never thought of that, it has a floppy too.

So I just need a disc that can take me into DOS. What is the command i would use to get the CD loaded?

navigate to the i386 folder and type winnt.exe to start installing XP.

Sorted it now, thanks.

Plugged in a USB keyboard and it went no probs.
