Cant log in windows please help:(

I restarted the PC, now I cant log in windows xp

, it gets to the screen where you can choose to go in Safe mode, last known configuration etc, i tried loading in safe mode, but i get this.

I tried the other options, but I get a blank screen after. the only recent hardware/softwares changes I did was update my graphic drivers to 84.25 3days ago for Oblivion. I'v also tried changing Ram, All the fans seem to be running ok. same problem:*( I would've reinstalled Winodows but I have important files in there I need to get to

Please help me

I get that garbled screeny I posted when I select Safe mode, it doesnt move from there. and when I select the other options I get a blank screen.

I'll find out what the last entry is on the screen, be right back

First of all, try this:

If neither of these fixes have any effect then its time to get hold of a knoppix CD and an external disk/ USB caddy :|

I got it sorted!!!

I did try that help file link you provided, I kept getting the same problem, and I’ve had no sleep yet stayed up all night trying to sort this out, tried everything. In the end, I reset the CMOS battery, it worked, went straight into Safe mode. And Thank God for system restore

I got an assignment to hand in tomorrow, and all my work files was in the PC, almost cried my eyes out earlier, 4 months of hard work. So glad I didn’t give up. I’m all sorted now. Got everything I need now, made quick back up on some DVDS.

I never want to go through experience again. External hard drive here I come
