Can't move files from my desktop

Running XP sp2, trying to cut / copy and paste some files from desktop to a folder (any folder) on my hard drive and the option to paste is not coming up and control + v doesn't work either/

Any ideas?

reboot mate the file could be in use atm so it wont let you.

sorted it, thanks, seems Paint Shop Pro, was hogging the clipboard even though I'd closed it.
