hi,
well for the most part of today after work i've been trying to oc my xfx hd5870 past my stable 949 core, and 1219 mem, with 1.230 core voltage to the magical 1000mhz, which seems to add a tremendous amount of performance. i've seen SOOOO many threads of people having their cards at 1000 core or over even. i've been trying all i can, even went up to 1.3v in afterburner to no avail, artifacts and system freeze after 2 mins of heaven v1.0 benchmark. i have set my fan settings up to a perfect setting, so that cant be the problem as my temps didnt go above 69 (or 71 furmark before freezing with block artifacts). my gpu bios has been flashed to the asus (1043) version.
main reason basically is just cause 2 with max settings and 4x aa gives me min of 42 in jungle stages and all, and you can really see the fps slugging at those frames (strange when crysis at 32fps seems smooth) and obviously i also want to increase my heaven score
has anyone else reached that core speed with this card? i heard that some cards cant reach those core speeds.. please tell me thats not true
