Can't open picture messages / MMS - iPhone 4

Hai guys,

I've got an iPhone 4 running on iOS 5.0.1, and it's jailbroken.

When someone sends me, or I send them a picture via txt/MMS, the little picture does show up in the chat convo, but when I click on the picture to open it full-screen, it always opens up a full-screen black image, just a black image instead of the picture.
This happens for all contacts, whether I tap on pics that I've sent or received, this happens.

I can opens pics from the photo's app fine.

This fault never used to happen, it's just started happening over the past couple days. I've not installed anything new from Cydia...

I'm using the default mail app, no add-ons or tweaks on it. I'm not the type of person that jailbreaks, and downloads 100 tweaks etc, I only have 2 or 3 apps from Cydia..

I've tried closing the messaging app completely, and restarting my phone, this didn't fix it.


Anyone else had this problem, or anyone got any suggestions on how to do a repair or anything?

I was having roughly the same problem and it turned out to be the permissions of the folder where it saves the pictures.

If you download iFile on your phone (Pretty sure there is a free version) and go to var/mobile/Library/SMS. Make sure the permissions for both the Attachments and Drafts folder are set to Mobile/Mobile and User - Read, Write, Execute.

This may make a bit more sense when you start using iFile.

Not saying this will definitely fix it, But worth a try.

I've done what you suggested, and even checked the individual permissions on the folders within the ones mentioned above, and checked the permissions on the .jpg's within the attachment folders, everything seems to be set alright.

This issue has been fixed. The problem was being caused by a tweak I had called 'PhotoAlbums+'. There must have been an update for this tweak which managed to break the above >.>

Emailed the author and uninstalled the tweak, sorted :3
