PC spec =
amd opteron 185 2.6ghz
mobo = a8v deluxe
2gb corsair ram

i set the mutlipler to its highest setting which is 13.0
and the FSP to its highest setting
im now running at 3ghz. temp of the cores average at 39degree. i think i can push it a little harder? but the bios does not seem to let me. i have the latest bios btw, had to update it else i couldnt of got a duel core.

3 GHZ is enough for most things today apart form benchmarking, so as advice i say leave it unless you have money for replacement parts if soemthing goes wrong. also stress test it first to see if it is really a stable OC

yeah stress tested it, but if i overclock the fsb any more, even 1hz it fails.. ive been running 3ghz for 2 weeks now gaming crysis etc on it. no problems. i just like keeping my pc ahead of the game thats all :P
fsb at 230
multiplier at 13.0

Have you increased the voltage? I also thought 3GHz was pretty good OC for an A64/Opteron.

really? i brought my new fan just so i could squeeze juices out of my system. when i brought my ram / mobo all those years ago i had OC in mind and i was told the opteron was a good OC'er. i would have thought i could have got more then 400hz out of an oc?
I increased CPU volate from 1.45 to 1.5 or something and tried increasing the FSB by 5 but again it seems as soon as i go over 230 my pc kindly tells me that my cpu overclock failed.
