Anyone got any ideas

I have an Giga-byte p35c-ds3r mobo
have just bought and added Scythe Mine Rev-B Socket CPU Cooler
now my idle temps are 30 and loaded 35
I have the http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-161-IN CPU

I have seen from peoples builds that this chip can go higher, but everytime I up it even a little example to 2.6

the PC powers up reboots twice and resets it back to default

Cheers

dont forget the ram volatge.

if you havethis ram

OCZ 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-8500C5 1066MHz Reaper HPC Edition Dual Channel DDR2

check packaging but on here it sais ram need 2.3-2.4v most board default to 1.8v soo the ram will fail as you try to get it up to its rated speed

Cheers for the help. Some of the stuff mentioned I can't find in my BIOS
might post screenies of my BIOS later if I decide to fiddle more

but managed to get the CPU to 3.2 and kept the ram at 1068

Going to run a stress test on it today if anyone can recommend a decent prog. The one from the links doesn't work on my PC

Before my p182 and with a £7 cooler used to run @ 48 idle 55 loaded @ 2.4

Just ran a stress test for 30mins and the temps held at 47 C running the chip @ 3.2

But that is with the side panel off the case (haven't had a chance to put it back)

Hopefully it will remain stable but so far am really impressed

check google for orthos.

would run it for at least an hour when u get chance, if the temp is still going up then let it carry on til it stays at the same temp for 3/4 minutes.
