Can't Play Battlefield 3, Punkbuster wont update :-/

After downloading BF3 through Origin it told me via the web browser I needed to update Punkbuster through the PB site, I downloaded the file, but when it goes to update it fails, it says the following -

15:46:21: Failed to create a temporary file name (error 3: the system cannot find the path specified.)
15:46:21: can't open file '' (error 3: the system cannot find the path specified.)
15:46:22: Failed to copy the file '' to 'pbgame.htm' (error 3: the system cannot find the path specified.)

I've trawled forums but haven't come up with anything, Anyone got any experience with this ?

delete pb folder all traces of it and do it again

Well i tried that and i still got no where, heres the screen it comes up with every time -

It looks like you have not 'added' BF3 in punkbuster.

That's why it cant install the files to the BF3 installation.

It wont let me add anything to the list, the auto update starts after the install of pb and it fails everytime and the list is empty.

when you select add it should show you a list of games

next select bf3 and path

next search for updates.


maybe something is blocking it or if you have someone you trust ask them to teamview your pc to try to get it sorted. usally it takes a minute tops.

you could maybe copy someone else pb file and add that to yours .

Ignore PB and just cheat like everyone else

but as been said just delete PB files and try again with those instructions above GL!
