Can't play Div3 encoded videos

I just noticed a large number of videos on my computer no longer play video in media player for some reason, I can skip through them and see individual frames but that’s it. I managed to figure out that the only thing these videos have in common is they are all encoded in Div3.

I have the latest version of DivX installed (6.8), anyone know what is going on here?

I have that installed and it plays them but I want to be able to use media player for various reasons.
