Hello :D

I have had my xbox 360 since relase date and have finally tried to play my brother over live today.

I was trying to invite him to join me playing gears of war but when he accepts the invite it says loading then 'connection lost'.

He tried inviting me and I got the same. We tried another game but had the same.

My xbox 360 is connected to my netgear router. I tried playing with the settings in my router incase I was the problem but its made no difference.

Anyhelp with this would be great as I only have a 48hour trial that came with the game!

Thanx in advance!!

The usual problem is NAT and routers. I have a netgear router, and have had the same problem, I could not get invited/invites to work, but live seemed OK.

In the end, I manually opened up some ports on the router, and that did the trick! I googled the required ports, but basically they where,
UDP 88
TCP/UDP 3074

Igave my 360 a fixed IP address just to make this easier...

you could just put the 360's ip address in a DMZ on the router...

And you may need the other person to sort their end out as well..

I was quite bemused that a uPNP router needed this, as I could join quick matches etc on live no problems, but hosting and inviting never worked!...

I had this problem, if you test the connection it will say 'NAT- restricted or moderate', sort limits yoru connection capablities, open soem ports on your router, and allow the IP on your firewall and should be fine.
