Cant record with audacity

I'm trying to record some stuff off line.
Thing is audacity won't allow it. The drop down menu is grayed out and Ive tried their suggestions.
Anytips?

I'm running xp64bit and realtek drivers.

Go into the recording section of Volume Control, and then unmute or select 'Stereo Mix', just a word of warning on this as you will need to bring the master recording level down to almost nothing if you've not got a decent card.
