Hi there

I think it was a TV show and not a movie, but I remember there was some kind of genius or computer programmer and he had his home/office set up so that he could only access his work if he completed a puzzle each day, and if the day came that he lacked the mental faculties to complete the puzzle the home/office killed him (suffocation by lock-in I think).

It might have been an episode of Psych, but I couldn't find it after searching.

Plz help :D
 
Nope. I watched them pretty recently and I'd remember.

I just have a feeling it was a crime drama and they were trying to figure out who the killer was, and the fact it was basically himself, doing suicide by house was the twist.
 
If memory serves he has a degenerative disease which he doesn’t want to live with so sets up the puzzle to access his work. He sets up a poisonous canister in the air vent which kills him. However as he lost the muscle dexterity/control his assistant sets up the gas canister so the assistant gets charged with something - manslaughter? murder 2? I can’t remember.

I also can’t remember the series either, I was thinking Elementary but I can’t find it by Googling.
