Hey, i got this weird problem where i cant run any programs without right clicking them and choosing run as admin. When i do click them and run them like normal, i see them open up in task manager but only useing about 104k of memory. Like i said if i right click each programs and run as admin they launch fine..... Im pretty sure i dont have malware or a virus, i have scanned for both and nothing has come up. Im pretty carefull when it comes to keeping my pc clean. Iv got the idea i may of delleted something from the registry by accident, but cant remember doing this.

A screenshot of the said problem, anyone got any idea what is up?

As you can see Steam, Pidgin, Winamp are the program i have chose to run, but they end up like that.

You made sure you don't have any malware kicking about? This is a fairly common thing they do these days, but normally the one that does is all flashy and shows up. Could be it was stopped by your protection but managed to do some damage first.

CCleaner is fine for removing temp files and other junk. You should absolutely not use it to clean your registry. Your registry does not need cleaning. Never has. Never will.

Even if you uninstall something and it leaves all the junk left behind in the registry?

If you are worried about crap left behind in the registry, use a tool specifically aimed at removing them [such as the McAffee and Norton tools that removes left over reg entries] or do it manually.

Though those entries will have no negative effects on your system if you just leave them.* The Windows registry is vast. A few left over entries will not cause any performance issues.

*some left over entries might cause issues in very rare cases, but just remove them manually. The point is, very broad clean and sweeps of your registry are more likely to cause problems than solve any.
