Can't run both my SSD and HDD?

[Predicament]

I am using an MDI GD55 Mobo. It appears that I can only use either the HDD or the SSD and not both at once. When I set boot priority, the drive that I set to 2) does not appear in my list of drives.

Also, sometimes I get a 'disk error' restart by pressing any key.

Is it possible that my HDD is broken?

All new components obviously..

If it's a blank drive you need to enable it in Disk Management Tools (Admin Tools) if you forgot to turn it into a 'New' system disk when installing the OS.

Yes I think that is what happened. However, it is not listed on disk management...
