I'm using the latest lucid puppy on an ancient sony vaio laptop that i use in my shed or when i'm out in the garden. I can't seem to watch any youtube videos on it. The sound is there, but no picture. I think the hardware is too old to play even the default resolution of the videos, so i need something that will select the lowest resolution for all youtube and flash videos. Something like a really old version of flash that will still be compatible with youtube.

Has anyone got any suggestions?

If you're that desperate you could try downloading the flv file and play it in a local player e.g. VLC or MPlayer. There are Firefox plug-ins to grab the video and download it automatically.

Jeebus that is old. You'd be better off buying an old laptop off the bay for £40, it would be 5x more powerful!

Well, the thing is, i had it for nothing and it does what i want it to do in my gym down the garden. It's currently running Xp Pro because i didn't get on well with puppy. As long as i can read pdf files, run spotify and browse the web, that's all i want. The only thing it doesn't do so far is watch flash videos.

You're actually miles behind minimum requirements!
