I am sure this is a stupid question but how do i set up my hard drive in new system - bought titan 8700i pulse with gtx670 and M4 128gb SSD.
My system only seems to be recognising the SSD and not sure how to go about fixing this.

Am looking elsewhere for solutions but if anyone can give me a quick answer that would be great.

thanks

Thanks for the quick reply. In Disk management I can only see my SSD and then there is a drive showing as system reserved 100MB.
Suppose it might be a good idea to open it up and see if there is actually a hard drive in there and if its connected!

Hmm definitely a hard drive in there but cant really see the connections at the back and it doesnt want to move too far so i assume its definintely connected to somehting back there!

in disk management is 'system reserved' on the SSD?

If system reserved is on the HDD then you'll need to re-do it all.

The HDD should be showing as 'unallocated space', which you need to allocate a drive letter to.

looks like it might be just on the SSD
It just shows C: (my SSD) with 119.14GB capacity and
system reserved underneath it showing 100MB capacity.
They are both NTFS file system if that means anything.

I have posted in customer service forum as well but it will be tomorrow before i can get anything sorted that way :)

It should look something like this (my config)
dse.jpg

Notice that the system reserved is on the same disk as the boot.
If it's on the HDD then someone made a mistake building your system because it won't boot if you remove the HDD in that config (and will boot slower).

It's more likely to be the same as mine above though because I imagine the HDD is the last thing chucked into the system before shipping.

If it's like above, the blue bar on my agility 3 will be black for your HDD. Right click it and assign a drive letter, you can choose quick format because it's a new drive.

Nah its not showing up in there at all.
There is only Disk0 which is my SSD drive and my CDROM showing so looks like something isnt connected with my hard drive.

Will try again to have a look in there although it seems fairly well secured!

Thanks for your help.

Managed to get in to have a look at the back of it and there are two connections the same as on my SSD so both seem connected properly.
As you may have gathered i am a bit out of my depth but i have changed hard drives and graphics cards and stuff before so looks to me like dead hard drive.
Guess i will just have to wait and speak to customer service tomorrow.

have you tried swapping the sata cables over between the ssd and your hard drive ?

can you see the drive in bios ?

if you take the side of the case off when you press the power on button does the hard drive sound like its trying to power up ?

Seems like its definietly the hard drive.
I disconnected both power and sata cables and swapped the hard drive and SSD over and the SSD still owrks fine but no sign of the hard drive.
Was in the BIOS and couldnt see any sign of a hard drive either but its a bit like a foreign language to me in there :)
