Can't seem to copy certain filetypes to 64GB MicroSD card

I recently gotten myself a Galaxy S4 phone as part of an upgrade on my current mobile phone package and I'm planning on using a 64GB MicroSD card that I was planning on using in my Android tablet device but can't as it won't fit into the slot on the device due to their being a problem with the springy bit inside said slot.

The card still has the folders with the media files that I copied via my laptop with Windows 7 (and which I can't use currently because of a problem with the power socket port so I'm having to use my Windows 8 HTPC to access the Internet), but now I have a problem in that Windows 8 won't allow me to copy files like APK's (the filetype that Android apps come in), Zip/RAR files and as a experiment, I tried exe files and they don't work either!

As far as I know, there shouldn't be a problem as I have full Admin rights (Lock Screen needing a password, etc) and I never had any problems transferring this sort of thing in the past for my 32GB MicroSD card for my Galaxy SII phone.

If anyone can give me some advice, I'd be very grateful.

Try formatting it on the S4. I formatted my 64-bit card to FAT32 (as I was trying CM10.2 and didn't realise CM could access exFAT now), but the program I used corrupted the card and I couldn't copy files, especially those in the 100s of MB to it. Windows wouldn't format it back to exFAT, but my SGS3 did and it's worked flawlessly since then.

So try letting the S4 formatting it. It's worth a shot.

You got the card from a reputable seller, didn't you (so not Ebay, of the Amazon or Play marketplaces)?

I decided to try and format it in NTFS format and it seems to have worked although I'm puzzled as to why it stopped working in a way before.

I got the memory card from Amazon themselves rather than through their Marketplace and it was definitely a genuine one as it came with a SD adapter as well as other related items.

On another note, is there any advantage for exFAT over NTFS when it comes to this sort of thing for memory cards being used with mobile phones?
