Can't seem to install Snow Leopard...?

Hi there,

I have a standard '09 MacBook which I have upgraded to 4GB and put an Intel SSD in there. I have run a Apple diagnostics which came up with no problems.

When I put the new Intel SSD in there, I tried to install Snow Leopard from that but it kept failing. I installed standard leopard which installed completely fine. So I tried to do an Upgrade to snow but that fails too...

...It says something about the disk being scratched and that I should clean it and try again...I tried a completely different disk and that didn't work either so it isn't the disk...

What could be wrong?

Thanks.

Nope doesn't install on the original HDD either.

The reason why I replaced the HDD was because I thought it was faulty because everything kept corrupting and I got quite a few crashes.

EDIT:

I was reading this: http://www.itwire.com/content/view/27309/1085/ ....its exactly the same problem as mine. I've tried two different disks though, one of them is the install disk from a new Mac the other is from Amazon (my copy).

I think your best bet is place the HDD in and take it to an Apple shop, they can then sort it out or request a replacement.

Hmm, interesting.

I removed one of the DIMMs from my Macbook so there was only 2GB in there and Snow Leopard installed fine.

I have run apple hardware test on each DIMM separately (and they are both fine).
