can't sign up to googlemail, why?

im trying to sign the gf up to gmail and its not letting me saying that i already have an account. i sign out then click sign up and again says i already have an account.

i thought they must only know because of cookies so deleted google cookies from firefox and still can't as already have an account. Also tried it in ie same problem.

anyone know why this is as it never used to be like this?

the only thing i can do is make a google account by using a email address already created but that can be hotmail andany others and doesn't give gmail address like is wanted.

Have you tried clearing your cache completely?

how would that work as we are trying to set up an email account, not google account, so what would you send it to?

Maybe they're picking up on your IP? Try re-dialling your connection.

Clear your cookies first too. In firefox: Tools>options>privacy>clear now

you must have alteast 1 email account you have access to? just email me or him ([email protected]) and we send you an invite where you can create one

i have cleared cookies just not the cache thing which was mentioned. If they are picking up on ip what a silly thing to do as they will be limiting my ip to one email account.

well she has done it at home now so no problems no more but still a weird thing to not allow me to sign up
