I am really gutted, I used to be able to sing fairly well but since christmas my voice has been going down hill and now just won't hold notes. I now sound like my dad when he sings :(

Anything I can do to bring it back?

Maybe you started puberty?

I'm waiting for it to because I still sound like a girl :p

My voice broke when I was 11, it meant that for the first years of secondary school I got type cast as the evil villain in plays etc :(

I may have found the cause, I have had a post nasal drip for a while now and apparently that can cause degredation of singing voice, although I can't find out if this will improve if the drip is sorted.

This is what happens when you age, unless you are incredibly gifted, you will sound just like your dad in the next few years.

All the best.

So did I.

Me too.

It's weird - for the last 6 months, I've constantly had the urge to clear my throat. I thought I just irritated it, and it must've since become habitual. It feels like there's mucus there a lot of the time, and my constant throat clearing is driving SWMBO mad.

As they're a couple of the symptoms, I think I'll be going to the doc's sometime in the near future.

Well that's a strange coincidence cause I am the same. Only I mentioned it to my doctor and they said it should clear itself. Anyway I will stray away now as to not break forum rules.

Try drinking some herbal tea, always seemed to help me.
Then again my voice is quite raspy anyway so it's never going to need to be perfect.
