I need some help with my build that I bought from OC and completed in June last year. Since then it has been running fine with no problems. Then one morning I hit the power button and nothing happens even though it was working perfectly the day before.

Specs:
Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail
VTX3D Radeon HD 7870 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Grap
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-Bit - OEM (GFC-02050)
MSI Z77A-G43 Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - FREE Alpenföhn Civetta Cooler
Cooler Master Silent Pro Modular 700W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply
Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB SATA 6Gb/s 16MB Cache - OEM (WD5000AAKX) HDD
Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (BLS2CP4G3D1609DS1S00CEU)
BitFenix Merc Alpha Gaming Case - Black
Gelid Tranquillo CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2/AM2+/AM3/LGA775/LGA1155/LGA1156/LGA1366)
OcUK 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM

Things I have tried
- Rebuilding outside of the case on cardboard
- Tested the PSU on an older rig (started that up fine)
- Wired the front panel connectors to the other rig (worked fine)
- Reset the CMOS
- Wired the CPU fan to the other rig incase of faulty fan (worked fine)
- (Edit Update) Alternated the memory sticks in different slots, together and seperately
- (Edit Update) Reseated CPU

I'm out of ideas other than I think it may be a faulty motherboard.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Have you tried reseating the cpu and maybe remove a stick of memory as opposed to swapping them round?

If you're sure the PSU is ok, then it must be the board. With any other faulty component the power led on the board would be lit with the PSU switched on.

Like Blue160 said, are there any lights? Any signs of activity? If you remove all memory and boot it should give a beep code (varies between motherboards but possibly 1-3-3-1)

Try removing all items it doesn't need to boot, ie graphics cards, dvd drives, extra HDD's, card readers and such to see if it gives a different outcome.

Whats the specs of the kit your working with?

Just spotted the specs!

He said he tested the PSU in another rig. Unless he tested it with a different kettle lead then no :P

Have you tried swapping the on/off power button with one from your older rig? Could be as simple as a broken switch.

Tried, still no success.

No lights or any activity. Tried removing everything except the bare essentials and still no life.

Looks like it is the motherboard that has failed. Bought the MB from Overclockers in June, will they replace it?

You should get 2 year manufacturer warrenty, go straight through them. They'll test your board and replace it.

However if they test it and turns out its not faulty, they will charge you for the service.
