So im testing out my new monitor but with the likes of Amazon prime and Netflix, i can't stream 4k video?

I'm using a 3090
i'm also using a display port 1.4 cable
the monitor is a LG 27UL600 4k UHD monitor.

I've set in control panel to the LG monitor for HDCP content and its showing as HDCP capable.

What else am i missing here to get this up and running properly?

Thanks!

I don't think Amazon allow 4k streaming on PC.

You're telling me i have to buy an amazon fire stick with the app... to stream 4k?! dear lord!
Probably some nonsense about preventing piracy, but in reality it does nothing but create annoyance for paying subscribers. Netflix should be possible though if it is HDCP 2.2 compliant.

Edit: a quick google search suggests you might need to use HDMI instead of displayport.

Ordered a new HDMI cable thats 2.2 capable so will try that tomorrow.

Will have to get a hdmi to displayport converter too as my LCD sensor panel is currently using up the hdmi port. Hope it all works :o

HDMI cable did it, playing 4k now on amazon prime. Showing the "HD" logo on the bottom of the player.

However plugging my HDMI cable for my LCD sensor panel into my motherboard doesn't work. Can't see any setting to enable it for my motherboard bios either and screen doesn't get detected in device manager.

Any tips?

I'm using a Z390 Gaming SLI with a 9900KF cpu.

a lot of the windows apps dont stream 4k (esp through a browser) - usually only way to do it is via the tv app itself (even then you may find Amazon/ Netflix have decreased the quality due to bandwidth restrictions since Covid, not sure these ever got back up to "normal").

Only real way of getting 4k is rip direct from UHD disk and play on plex etc but make sure you have a really decent wifi to do this (or gigabit network attached).

Yeah i noticed, been trying everything and anything and theres no way to get UHD on amazon or netflix via browser. Amazon will let me play HD 1080p now via HDMI using Edge browser but not through chrome for some reason, just says HD not available.

I guess the only way to do it is to plug in a fire stick into the monitor... or the method you mentioned by ripping them.
