Cant update and other problems

Hi all

ill tell it from the beginning

Been having problems with Epic Games application, when i load it, it never works first time says "no internet" so i click on retry connection, and it then works

this has been like this for months

today, decided to see if I had any windows updates, so I go to the settings/windows update. says "no internet", click "retry" , still says "no internet" and wont check for updates

so i went to settings/Internet/trouble-shooter

ran that and it said "fix this error" , so I clicked on fix

10 mins later after a restart etc, I'm no further forward
updates still don't work, and I can no longer get to settings/network & internet :confused:

i have WIFI 6 on this pc , so I'm wondering if that's conflicting it (my WIFI is off on my WIFI 6)

any ideas?
internet works fine, i can browse as normal

Are you using DHCP or manual settings?

how do i check ?
think router is DHCP

found it in plusnet router, its on DHCP

If your PC is set to DHCP try a winsock fix and reboot.

done the winsock fix, no difference

noticed there is an error code on the windows update (0x8007042c)

i shall google that and try fix

Microsoft safety scanner is picking up a few !

cleaned, still got problems!

even done a full scan of Kapersky

tried a lot of programs like CC cleaner

cleaned as much as i could, and still not working

i guess the only option left is to reinstall windows
