Cant Upgrade From Cat 10.4

Hi all,

I posted this problem a while back and it seemed to be affecting a few people. I let it lie as all my games were functioning fine, until WOW patched on Tuesday.

I lag out now when going into Dungeons, so I thought the obvious thing to do is try a Cat upgrade again.

No luck, its just blue screens, I then have to go back to last known good.

Anyone having the same issues or does anyone have an answer?

I am using Win7 64Bit

I have a 4870x2 and im on 10.4 drivers had the same problem i updated to the new ones rebooted blue screen i system restored back to 10.4s and it screwd wow up i had ti uninstall wow and reinstall it could not repair it, After a full download took me 15 hours and reinstalle everything inc addons from scratch i seem to have no slow down now but 10.9ss stay away from on win 7 64bit on 4870x2.

seems ATI arnt support the card anymore.

Pretty sure the 4870x2 is still under support mate.
Have you tried removing the drivers in safe mode, reboot back in safe mode and run driver driver sweeper and then reboot normal and see if you still get bsod?

Yep i did that as well made no differance alittle fed up right now but i think the problems are not the drivers but wow coding as all other games are perfect no matter 6970 is here soon time to pull the credit card out lol.

I get blue screens on any driver past 10.4 to.Very annoying to say the least.Cant wait for a fix for this.Why should 4870 x2 owners have to put up with old drivers?
my card is barely a year old.

As i said Ati don't care about the 4870X2 they should fix this for us the card isn't even being pushed to it's limits yet im plowing thru everything max details still.

Uninstall 10.4 drivers first.

It seems the 10.4's don't like being installed over the top of.

I'm running the 10.9's fine... Granted I'm not on Win7 and I was on 10.6 before installing 10.9... I uninstalled the 10.6's first, rebooted then installed the 10.9's with no problem at all

Only issue I had was with CCC refusing to load but after uninstalling the 10.9's, clearing everything ATi related out of the registry and deleting all ATi related files from the windows/assembly folder, then reinstalling the 10.9's a 2nd time, both drivers and CCC runs fine

It must be like Damien said, the 10.4's must unhappy about having newer drivers installed over them

10.4 -10.9 is a huge jump so i doubt installing over the top was tested & to many changes has been made for that to be a safe option.
