Can’t upgrade the bios

I have a msi B660m-a motherboard that’s incompatible with the i5-12400 I have without the bios being updated.

I’m going to need to buy a cpu to upgrade the bios. How do I know what CPU is going to be compatible with the current bios? I’ve checked the compatibility section of the msi website but I don’t know what version of cpu is compatible.

Are you sure about that? I'd think H0 & C0 should both be compatible with the release BIOS.

You could try picking up a Celery (g6900) from a marketplace, a few people got them to fit 13th gen CPUs and you may be able to get one cheap. I wouldn't recommend buying one new (unlikely you'll get your money back).
I’ve had a look and I can only see H0 versions of the g6900. What a carry on.

From the CPU support list, I think they're still compatible with the 10 BIOS, it's only the H0 12100(F)/12400(F) that are listed under 11 (H0 was actually the original stepping/die, it's what the CPUs that were launched in October 2021 used).

When did you buy your board? Have you emailed MSI?
Bought the board in September for my sons Xmas. Between that and the crap Kolink case I picked up…..lol. I’ve contacted MSI to see if they can help out. My local phone/computer repair shop wants £55 to update the bios.
