Can't view photos on Adobe Bridge CS4/ACDSEE

I've got a 1000D and everyime I connect the camera to my PC I can't seem to view the images on Adobe Bridge or ACDSee when I select the camera. I could only see icons of the files and there's a small "locked" icon on top of each of them. I thought maybe the files were "read only" but there doesn't seem to be an option to change it anywere on properties.

Is this normal? The only way I can view the files is if I transfer them to my PC(which works fine), or using Canon's own software.

Pretty sure that's normal. You've got to put them on the computer before you can do anything with them. Why do you specifically want to view them on the camera?
