ive just finished installing my new cooler, which meant taking the mobo out. however, i didnt think to take a note of which way the case connections went into the motherboard

the power, reset and one other case connector each have a 'power' and 'ground' connection. i cannot find in the manual or labeled on the wires which lead is which.

if anyone can be of any help that would be great
(my case is the coolermaster elite 342)

Power is generally red or white whilst Ground is black. It should say on each connector what it's intended for. Apologies if im stating the obvious here.

the polarity of the reset and power dose not mater as their just switches, its the hd and power lights you need the right way round, just try if thay dont light swap round.

Tried downloading the PDF for your motherboard?

Perhaps there was two manuals? one for installation and then the main one.

I always base it on the bottom of the motherboard being the front, and the writing on the plug faces down toward the front. Seems to work 90% of the time!

What motherboard have you got, our fingers can assist you then xD

motherboard isnt the problem. all of that is labeled nicely. the problem is there is nothing telling my ehich of the case's cables are power and ground.

however, since every cable has a coloured lead and a while lead, and the 'power LED' cable is actually labeled with white being negative, i am going on the basis that the white is ground for all the cables.

if the worst comes to the worst, then i wont have an LED saying that the HDD is being used

*edit*
woot, i guessed right

Look on the connectors that come off the case to plug into the motherboard that say "HDD LED"......turn them over and on the other side there should be an arrow in parrallel with one of the pin holes...this refers to the + and make sure that hole plugs into the + pin on the MB.
