Just noticed a very high-pitched constant whine. Could it be a mobo capacitor? My motherboard is gigabyte ma790xt-udp4 and is only about 2 years old.

Is it something I should be concerned about?

Could be caps or it could be one of the chokes in the PSU not usually anything to worry about unless you get stability issues.

It's far more likely to be coil/choke whine.

It's not good, as it reduces efficiency, but if it's out of warranty I'd still use it. :)

Ahh, I've been gaming a lot recently and maybe my 4770 is starting to feel it.

It's not very loud and was thinking about getting a better case to quieten things up anyway. Maybe now is a good time :D

It's hard to tell with monotone pitch sounds where it comes from, but it didnt seem close to the psu, more near the back of the gfx card/sata connector area.
