Capacitor on 5850

Bought a gfx card off mm for a mate of mine and the card was fine. Now the silly bugger fitted a water block to it and installing it to his PC he has managed to knock one of the capacitors off, it got caught on a fan wire. I guess the question he wants to know is can it be fixed?

I'd say yes, just needs soldering!

not seen the damage but he says the way its broken off it cant be soldered back on. He is saying it needs a new capacitor with the bit of wire or somethig.

It can be fixed, you just need to find the right capacity and replace it with solder. ^_^

Call him a knob for me but as above. But if he doesn't have a solder it maybe cheaper to buy one from auction site or MM. There about £40

Don't worry I think he feels bad enough about doing it already. Cash flow is something he does not have much of atm and this was an upgrade from a 1900xtx so he is really disappointed that he screwed up.
