This is a live report just released from Capcom Gamer's Day in London. Street fighter 4 is curently in production as well as Lost Planet for the PS3. Here is the full list of announcements.

Street Fighter 4
Development has just begun and the release of the game is more than a year away. No platforms are yet confirmed - a highly stylised animated concept trailer of Ryu and Ken fighting was shown, but no game footage.

Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice
A new character and new series starring a rookie lawyer. Phoenix Wright makes an appearance but is not the lead character. Made specifically for DS.

Lost Planet (PS3)
Avaialable early next year and will include all bonus characters from the PC version and extra downloadable content from the 360 version making it the complete package. Made possible with Blu-ray. 16 player online over the PSN.

Dark Void
A new sci-fi action-adventure IP. Trailer showed third-person and air-vehicle gameplay with a character wearing a steam punk jetpack, skydiving and landing in the cockpit of a gyroscopic aircraft, and then jumping and climbing through airbase fortesses.

Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD (Xbox Live Arcade)
The game will feature a spectator mode and is scheduled for a 2008 while the team try and get zero lag for the online mode. Also features stat tracking and widescreen. Original music from Street Fighter 2 will be used, plus remixed versions of all those tunes.

Wii Love Golf
From the Everybody's Golf team comes a cutesy golf sim, that looks slightly more technical than the PlayStation versions. Players can fade or draw the ball by twisting the Wii-mote when taking a swing

would link to story but servers are on overload lol!

If SF4 is an exclusive to PS3 that will shift a ton of units.

Not really

Fighting games don't sell much nowadays, it's not like Virtua Fighter 5 sold lots of PS3s.

Lost Planet wasn't a great game anyway so does anyone actually care about that?

Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD: Trying to play Street Fighter with the 360 dpad sucks, they're also screwing over all the people who bought the arcade release last year.

That sucks. They always said it would be 2007. Although if it means perfect netcode then I can't complain.

As far as I know SSF2:HD Remix is due on both PSN and XBLA arcade simultaneously (like Puzzle fighter was).

SF4 I will reserve judgement on as SF3 never lived up to the legacy of its predecessors.

PS3 hasn't sold that many units in Japan. It's not a system seller, no fighting game is anymore.

I'm not saying its a system seller in the same strength as MGS4\FF13\GT5 is, but it would still shift units if it was a PS3 Exclusive, there are a ton of SF fans out there who would do anything to get there next fix of SF.

And the PS3 hasn't sold that many units in Japan? Its sold way more than the 360 though(which is probably the other format that SF4 would appear on)...

Japanese console sales figures for the first half of fiscal 2007

PlayStation 3 - 385K
Xbox 360 - 82K

Dont get me wrong the PSP, DS and Wii have sold wayyyyyy more than anything else though, especially the DS.

I remember getting the snes with SF2 and by god back then that made the snes fly off shelves. These days thought fighting games take a back seat to most other genres. Can't help but feel capcom really messed up the sf series with the constant updates coming pretty quick after the last game hit the arcades. Saying that though gamespot had an article on the sf series and most of the updates like hyperfighting, and ssf2 new challengers X were brought out mainly because the dev team couldn't get all the features done in time, hence champion edition then hyper fighting, the new challengers and new challengers x (or turbo).

If they had spaced the games out more it probably would have had more of an appeal, but back then they were just concerned with getting new revisions of the game out mere months after shipping other revisions.
