I'm trying to get a video from my DV camcorder (Panasonic GS27EB).

The device is recognised by Vista, and seemingly installs ok as a DVC. But Movie Maker does not see it, like it does in XP.

Is there any other software I can use to capture the video? I've not used a DV camcorder in windows before, so I don't know what are the decent programs.

Cheers

Have you tried nero or you could try WinDV but not sure if it works under vista

Nero doesn't pick it up either, it should just install it as a generic device, right?

Will give WinDV a go

Edit: I should mention, I've been trying over USB.

Last two cams i had to take video off via usb (sony and a jvc) i had to find usb drivers from manufacturers site to get them running but that was under xp so not sure about vista

Seems to be some sort of driver issue, XP picked it up as a generic DVC and worked fine. Vista picks it up as a DVC and seems to install ok, but nothing detects it.
