Is anyone knowledgable in regards to car audio? Wanting to upgrade my current system and was wondering if anyone could suggets some components for me to use.

I have just got a Pioneer headunit so I need everything apart from that, have around £150 to spend and im told that can get me something in the middle of the park and will do the job amply. Just need some suggestions on actual speakers and who to go for/avoid etc.

Cheers :)

Are you wanting everything or just some mid range speakers for that budget?

It's not a lot when it comes down to car audio I'm afraid.

So as a start I'd probably recommend these just because I have them in my own car and have used them both with and without an amp and they sound great either way. They have quite a wide RMS input range so are happy being driven off the relatively low power head units give out.

For ease you could then team with with a small active sub like this.

Cheap and not particularly high end but should give a nice improvement over standard.

Liking the look of those. In budget too, thanks! Is there anything you could recommend with a seperate sub and amp? I've heard it's better to have them seperate?

You will really struggle to get new components, a decent amp and a sub for your budget.

I would go:

2nd hand JBL GTO4000 - Ebay ~£30
JBL GTO804 8" sub - £35
Sealed box - £10 MDF
Spend the remainder on components of your choice and wiring if you need it.
