Right ok I am looking at buying a new audio install for my car (Rover 200). I am going to buy a set of 6.5" components for the front and a sub for the boot. I will leave the rear stock speakers disconnected and replace the head unit with something.

Does anyone have any advice on what brand I shoud be looking at?? I don't really recognise any of the car audio manufacturers other than Sony / Pioneer etc. I have my eye on the Cerwin Vega Vmax 65s, just because I have done some gigs with CV! stuff and it's always been pretty solid, also there is a 2 channel CV! amp which I guess would work nicely with them.

My budget is probably between 100 - 250 for each bit (sub / front components / amps etc).

What's recommended then?? :D

Hertz Energy 6.5" components are cracking quality for the money for your fronts... If you can demo the CV's though (or any others such as Rainbow etc) thats the best way to see what suits your ears!

Amps, I dunno, you don't get as much for your money so decent brands are alright all in all.

Head unit, I'd personally choose Alpine or Pioneer :)
