Car boot dimensions

Hey,

Looking into a trip to the hell hole that is IKEA to sort out some flatpack nightmares but I'm struggling with working out if it'll fit into my car. Yeah the obvious answer is to measure it but I don't have access to the car right now so I turned to the internet.....

Nothing but utter failures everywhere I search - I can find exterior dimensions and of course the ever helpful bootspace in litres but not actual lengths and widths!

Anyone know of any good sites that will have accurate details? The car in question is a Ford Mondeo Mk4 Facelift and yes I tried the Ford site but they only want to tell me about the new Mondeo of course!

Little help with the google-fu? :)
 
How big is the flatpack you are purchasing? with the back seets down, it will have to be pretty big not to fit in a Mondeo. I have the prefacelift mk4 mondeo and have not been deafeated with Ikea products! (yet)
 
base of rear seats to boot = 450mm
top of rear seats to boot = 355mm (they angle backward)

seats down to boot = 1725mm
width at narrowest point = 1465mm

all may be +/-10mm

I was bored and went out and measured it :P (it is a pre facelift but should be same I think)

I fit an Ikea table, two arm chairs and a bench in the back of a fiesta the other day. You'll be fine with a Mondeo!
 
Yeah all measured up now and looks to be no trouble at all. Just kinda frustrated at how hard it is to find this info online when you don't have access to the car! Even the handbook didn't have the info!
 
Is it an estate?

If so you could probably just shove the whole store in the back (don't take the staff though, they frown upon that).

Like I did last week :)

4x 2.2 meter boxes
2x 2 meter boxes

...and loads of other stuff in the back; including drawers, a matress, a swivel chair and also my son sitting in his booster chair - Got to love estate cars :)

Don't do what I did....

Measure inside car
Measure flat pack
Buy flat pack

Realise I hadn't checked size of hatch opening.......

Likewise. A few years back me and the missus kitted out a flat with Ikea furniture, including a rather large desk, with the backseats down and a little jiggery pokery, there was plenty of room! :D

I'd like to see what Ikea sell that wont fit in a Mondeo! Other than a bed maybe!
 
Information online about boot sizes is absolutely useless. Even the litre figures can't be trusted, as there's usually no info to say whether they refer to:

Seats up
Seats down
Size up to parcel shelf
Size up to roof

Hatchback?

1130mm between wheel arches, 1367 maximum width.

Load board length behind rear seats 1171, 1886 to the front seats.

Compartment height to shelf 533mm

Just need the GCIE measurments ;)

Seats up = V210-2
Seats down = V210-1
Size up to parcel shelf = V214-2
Size up to roof = V211-2
