Car broken into for...

Moving out of halls today and my Dad rang me to say he hadn't left yet because someone had broken into my mum's car.

They mangled the driver side lock and the windscreen is cracked, all because they wanted to nick the windscreen wiper motor :confused:

WTF?!?! who the hell breaks into a car to steal a motor, they really can't be worth that much. They must have been disturbed or got bored because the motor is still there, all disconnected and unscrewed...

So random, what's the point

just wanted to vent, wonder what the hire car is.
 
annoying, thing is we have a garage but the car rarely gets put away anymore, ahh well, it will do now.

last time the car was targetted, was about 4 years ago and all the hub caps got nicked... it's only a boggo MK4 Golf.

Windsreen wiper motor for mine costs about £800 :eek:

Someone once broke into my car and nicked a black rubbish bag I was intending to take to the tip :/
 
I've got it! It's probably like those Chimp Alarms. Push wiper button, Chimp gets out of the boot, washes down screen, then dries it by hand.

Suppose thats worth 800 beans.... :D

Ouch, guess you drive something like a merc CLK? (i've been looking into those cars and they have a rather large repair bill on them motors!)

These days anyone would do anything for free.

Damm dumb society!
 
lol, its a mercedes C class so it has the single large windscreen wiper that goes up into the corners as its sweeps accross the screen.

Luckiliy you can usualy get a refurb or copy part from ebay for a couple of hundred, or even luckier it wont break!
