Car check websites

Anyone recommend a car checking website? There are so many they probably all do the same thing but just wanted to be sure. Thanks.

Just use the official hpi site, it's not terribly priced and will have the info you want to see

Sorry, I am new to all of this. Yes, check HPI and anything else that may be beneficial to knowing about the history of the car.

£20 compared to a fiver from other sites? I'm not tight but I don't like to throw my money away either.

A lot of the cheap ones don't check outstanding finance which is probably the single most important thing you need to know. I just used the RAC one, 15 quid rather than 20 and it does everything the HPI one does

Yea, I can see where you are going with this now that I have learnt to read. HPI seems to give you absolutely everything whereas the other sites bolt on things like finance for an additional fee.

Lesson learnt. I will just go with HPI themselves. What's £20 when spending thousands, right?

How seriously should you take the "Vehicle Valuation" section on the RAC check?

Not too seriously. Real world market dictates the price more.
