Car Crash HDR

Ok, not really a picture of a car crash but I was in a car crash and happened to have my d70 on me. Whilst waiting for the recovery vehicle I noticed the sun setting next too an empty office building. I balanced the camera on a pole and took 3 shots +/-2 steps and came up with the pic below. Might still be a bit ott for non-hdr lovers

Wow that's a fantastic lighting effect there!

I like the way the light comes off the top of the building as if it's glowing

You could post it on this website: http://interfacelift.com/ and let people use it for their desktop.

I know I'd use it!

Need to sort the 'halo' effect round the top of the building, spoils the HDR.

Absolutely. Haloing can be a side-effect of going a bit far ...

wow!, i like it....how did u get that effect?? im guessing a bracket thingy then overlapped in PS ????(if i remember from my tut' readings)

Looks more like a Photomatix job (tone mapping etc.)

It makes HDR images from 3 or more and has a tone mapping feature, which is how that's done.

Agree with the haloing. Also the foliage in the foreground looks a bit weird too.

To be blunt, i dont know why you've overdone it so much. It's not that it just looks unnatural, it's just not aesthetically nice. That would be a nice HDR shot if processed sensibly.

I disagree, I really like it. It's got a kind of ethereal, dramatic quality to it that gives it a lot more impact than a typical picture of a building. Less HDR might have made it look more natural, but would have robbed the pic of a lot of that striking quality.

lol, cheers dude. I appreciate your comments and the reason why I processed it as such was to interprate what I saw in front of me. It was a wierd, surreal building, like something alien. I think I've portrayed that accurately in my photo and I like it

I actually like it. It's obvious it isn't a natural shot, so slips into the art category rather than photography, but it's still nice.

The only thing I'd say was wrong, was the grass/bush/things

. I'd do something with that as it doesn't look the right colour.
