Sodding typical,
Myself and the bride drive down to Wales on Friday to visit the father-in-law as he needed my help with some decorating.
Took him up the pub on Sunday for a couple of bevvies and left the car in the layby over the road from his house (can't park directly outside due to the bus stop being there)
Get back at about 11ish and went to bed at about midnight.
Woken at 1:30am to the alarm going off, drivers door glass smashed and my glovebox ripped open. My old 3g I-pod which was connected to the Alpine 9850Ri headunit had been ripped out, completely torn the cable. £52 for a new cable.
My snooper was also nicked, even though it was under the seat and my bluetooth handsfree taken as well, divs left the mic though. Paintwork is scratched where they used a screwdriver to get behind the seal of the glass.
Went through the insurance as was quoted £550 for the glass, autoglass couldn't come out until the next afternoon and then could only fit perspex,as they had to order the glass in.
The glass they ordered was the wrong piece, so had to drive back to Derby with the perspex in and they came out last night to fit the new piece. No claims isn't affected.
Tried to claim on our holiday insurance as effectively we were away and they told us no chance due to the stuff being in the car. I said what would happen if we had been camping? They said they didn't know as they had never dealt with that before.
My car is a Jeep Cherokee.
I'm pretty ****** off at the moment, one thing that does make me happy is that the ipod didn't hold a charge for longer than about 15mins (that's why it was used in the car) so it will be funny when they try to sell it.
