I cant remember if it was on here or someone on the Mazda forum had access to a system that would give you all the info on car extras from VIN.

Anyone know what the system is called?

Looking at selling my old car but as I bought it new I dont have a clue what the extras are/were or even if there is any haha

I assume it's specific to each manufacturer. Can't you just google for the standard equipment of your model for that year and then assume everything else is an option? Either way if it's a desirable function (such as cruise) then it's probably worth listing it in the advert in case the potential buyer doesn't know what the standard equipment would have been.

Plenty of VIN decoders out there for BMW and VAG group products, I assume there are those out there for other manufacturers also. I used one recently to check out the 4-series I was thinking of buying.

Specifically for those who are looking to buy a BMW but only have the registration plate to go off, the MINI finance calculator website will happily provide you the VIN for both BMW and MINI vehicles (including old ones, my old 52 plate 330d will happily resolve VRM to VIN).
