car fm transmitter for ipod

i want to keep my factory radio on my nissan. am looking at using one of these fm transmitters. has anyone got one of these or similar and are they any good?

what sort of performance can i expect

does the performance of the transmitter have any bearing on the location of the cars aeriel?

i was reading on another forum that if the car ariel is located at the front of the car (i.e. front of roof) the device works ok as it's nearer to the transmitter. car aeriels using the heated screen do not work as well as they are further away from the transmitter?

anyone have any experience of this?
