Hi all, I am about to go home for easter hols from uni and my micra (2000-2003 model) needs a new headlamp.

Get the headlamp from nissan? ebay? or a scrappy (not seen many facelift k11 micras at scrappys). I heard you can get unbranded headlamps that are identical? what sort of price?

I had this car for 2 years and this is the first repairs so havnt had to get spare parts before (except from when i changed the oil, sparks, filters).

Also the car is around 7.5years old and done 28k miles, anything else I need to check on it?? iirc the engine is chain driven?? gearbox oil??

im sure many of you know all the answers:p thanks!

I'd check ebay, scrappys or a local motorfactor, Eurocar parts now do parts for all cars and can be very competitive. Nissan will probably be very expensive for the lamp.
The engine is chain driven and the gearbox oil will be fine.

Out of curiosity, how has the car only done 28k over 7.5 years?!

it had 19.5k on it in sept 05 when I bought it. it had MOTs etc to prove no clocking. Last year at uni I left it at home as I was in halls, and this year at uni it just sits on my uni house drive, always starts first time even after 10weeks of sitting still:). A drive home and back is only 70miles total.
Despite only doing a few thousand a year I would hate not having a car, also the car has got to the stage where it is worth far more to me than the cash value.
