Car Learner...question

My grandad is going to insure me on his car by the end of the week so i can go out and have some practice, were wondering whether my mate who past his test last month will be able to take me out in it ?

is there any time you have to wait after passing your test to take someone out to learn ?

as far as my knowledge knows i can go out with my friend as i have insurance and he has a full license, but wouldn't surprise me if you had to have had your license for couple of years before you can teach someone
 
my driving instructor was a nice fella, but didn't like it that i never had any experience in a car, and he picked me up and basically said rite lets go (even knowing that i never had any experience)......i looked at him and basically said wtf you mad ?,
i at least wanted a couple of lessons in a empty road or car park first off! but it wasn't to be and i went straight on the road. mad. i think thats why i lost interest, he made it harder than it should have been.

2nd lesson i wasn't in the middle of town, busy day on roundabouts, lost all my confidence.
 
it aint good :/, motorway 2nd lesson for me, hated it, most people at least have a drive in there parents or something before hand i had absolutely Zero experience

EDIT: and nah i know so many people that had first couple of lessons in car park first, or at least have 10-15 minutes teaching me what everything was ect, but im saying i sat in the car, his first words were, hiya have you done any driving before ? i replied none at all, and he said ok lets go....and looked forward as if to say ive just taught you now lets go. and thats the truth as well
