Anyone with AAWireless notice that the music control bar at the bottom of the screen has gone? Only way to control it now on the screen is to have the music player itself on screen (either full screen or split) so when in maps, you have to exit map view. Irritating.
Not sure what you mean, I've never had a music control bar at the bottom of the screen, this is what mine looks like...

Pretty sure you can turn it on/off using the "taskbar widgets" setting in android auto on your phone

Thanks for that, I’ve turned on start media automatically as at the moment I’m having to go into the Pulsar app on the cars touchscreen to start music. This should start playing automatically, I always choose a playlist on the phone before getting into the car.

Ah! Thank you, just found that setting - irritatingly Android no longer treats Android Auto (at least on Pixel 9) as a usual app, it's only accessible via Settings. Now found the taskbar widgets and have turned it on (must've been turned off somehow). Thank you.

Yeah on my old Samsung Galaxy A34 it used to play media automatically as soon as I launched Android Auto, it didn’t when I first got it but somehow it started doing it at some point.

When I got my Samsung Galaxy S25 it no longer did it automatically and I had to start media manually, wasn’t a massive pain but now I’ve enabled start media automatically it should start doing it again.

In Car play neither VLC nor foobar players I use have audio controls available on the car screen, so need to use the phones touch screen.

After this years Glastonbury , have been experimenting with using, more efficient, OPUS rather than AAC codec for encoding ripped material, or re-encoding older stuff.
(dam iphone infrastructure without limitless SD cards you could put in phone)
