Watching the apprentice got me thinking about this as a potential job (car supermarket), given the commission was mentioned at about 1% of the sale price there seems to be decent potential to make good money here. Anyone tried this?
As a car salesman? If you're a good sales person then it can be.
Personally I couldn't/wouldn't want to talk people into buying a car on finance when the can't really afford it, or don't really want the car. But thats me...
Maz from here IIRC works for a franchise dealer IIRC, Fiat?

We don't get paid 1% of purchase price, we get 10% of profit earned.
I think that for that particular exercise in The Apprentice they made the commision 1% of selling price to keep it simple, because if they did it the way we ACTUALLY get paid they'd have taken ages to work out commision and they'd have to reveal the vehicle cost prices etc.
