Car suggestions - downsizing from MPV?

Just wondering if anyone's got any suggestions...

I'm looking for a car that'll mostly be used for commuting ~25mls each way on mostly rural (mostly 50mph) roads, but with very occasionally longer trips, e.g. daughter to/from university (along with gear!), i.e. probably 300-500 mils each way but normally just work and back.

As rural doesn't mean no traffic, the prime criteria would be adaptive cruise control that works at low speed, along with an auto box, air-con and ideally a heated windscreen - also either a SatNav or Apple AirPlay. While I'd not want it to be sluggish, I'd put driver comfort & ease above performance, so the various "driver assist" features attract.

I'm currently driving a Ford S-Max but no need for the number of seats/luggage any more, which is slightly ironic as I'm currently looking at Skoda Superb's (L&K-specs for the ACC & heated windscreen) as options (huge capacity but probably not really needed). Current pricing would put them around £17K for 2017 models from Skoda dealers, which could be possible. Skoda has the advantage of a couple of Skoda dealer's not too far away and apparently reliable, albeit with lockdown I've yet to have had the chance of any form of test drive to see how they feel in reality. I'm not anticipating the size to be an issue, as they're similar to the S-Max, but will be interesting to find out for sure.

Anyway, I wondered what suggestions people might have that I should take a look at, while we're waiting for lockdown to end!

I have a 15 plate superb and it's been a great car.

If you don't need so big the obvious choice is a Octavia.

You would would struggle to get another car which offers a similar spec to price point.

Saying that however have a look at Volvo V60, great looking vehicle but nowhere near the space of a superb... Unsure if v90 is in budget.
