Hiya, I have a small 12v bullet camera, it has a single Yellow lead (component?) coming from it, I want to use this inside my car to record track days etc, my question is what is the best way to capture the video from the camera onto my laptop ?

I have seen usb capture sticks which seem to just convert the signal to usb form? are these any good.

Sorry for being a bit vague I dont know a great deal about video capture!

Cheers for the reply Are there solid state capture boxes available? since most of the things in that link seem to be cameras (which I already have) I had a Grabster AV400 but it seems to have died!

I have searched but I seem to get DVD capture boxes and for TV etc

Yea I dont think the res is high at all, It just seems a shame to have it and not use it, Its only to play with more than get any footage I was just wondering how I would get the footage from the cam to a laptop (or similar )its the one andy used to film the ring laps, but I dont know what he used to transfer the video to storage.

I must sound a bit ***** when you have really decent equipment :D

Im going to go for the "EZ Grabber" (if you just type it into google it will come up) seems like it should work although Im not 100% thanks for the advice, If I get into a bit more I will spend some proper money and get some half decent kit :)

Can you not buy a SD card camcorder with video in ? Just use a converter cable from phono to 3.5mm so that it fits into the camera input .

sd camcorder will be the most hassle free mate, a sony or something cheap around £25 will do the job as its just using it as a tape deck just make sure it does video IN
