*** Car Wash / Valet / Detailing Thread ***

Looking great @Janesy B.

Soo looking forward to using Blackhole on mine.

Also found my old tub for Farcela G3 SG Wax so that will go on top me thinks vs the turtle wax graphene. Kinda wish I didn't buy that mega bundle now.

Edit... I think I've settled on Garage Therapy Shampoo V2 for my maintenance washes. Good suds and slickness, smells good and 10ml in a 10L bucket!

5L for £39 bottle so I can be liberal with the dilution when I want.

Just bought some GT Shampoo myself, if it seems good I might be tempted to buy a big bottle of shampoo for a change. I've been using Autobrite Purple Velvet for around 12 months and have been more than happy with it, but just fancied trying something different.

On top of that I bought:

Gyeon Wet Coat (I'll probably save this as a topper for the grind through winter)
Gyeon Q2 Tyre (Have been happily using AG High Performance Tyre Gel, but wanted to try something new and really like the Gyeon products I have already)
Stjarnagloss Först X Citrus Pre-wash (Have been using Valet Pro Citrus which seems OK, but not great)
TAC System Shinee Wax (Haven't got enough of this type of product already (/s)... Apparently Shinee Wax does everything well apart from longevity so it'll be fine as something to play with until September when I have time off to do a proper polish/wax))
in2Detailing Tyre Brush (Never owned a dedicated tyre cleaning brush so I'll see if it makes any difference, it was only £3.50)

One day I'll buy the illusive pressure washer and DA I've always wanted, but I bought Bilstein shocks and other parts for the E92 this month, so a pressure washer and DA are on the backburner again.

The decon shampoo is great too, 50ml to 400ml in a foam canon did a car and 50ml in a 5gal bucket was more than foamy enough.

Since I used the last of my Magifoam I have nipped local and decided to give Halfords Advanced Snowfoam a try.

2 x 2.5L for £16.50 as it’s Buy One, Get another for Half Price.

With all this rubbish weather when it finally drys up it will be a good test to see how effective it actually is.

I take it you didn't see my post about halfords on the last page? ;)

From the range I could only see myself buying the foam, all the other products are pre diluted 500ML which is an expensive way to clean your car.

If it helps wash away debris, softens traffic film enough that it’s not a waste of time using I’ll be pleased.

I like a thicker consistency which I believe this foam allowing me plenty of time to clean my wheels before the need to rinse.

I’ll try and do a 50/50 Foam vs Rinse if my car gets dirty enough before it’s next wash to put it’s performance doubts to the test :D

Tell me about it. Tues seems dry all day so I'll do a full decon that day.

Decon shampoo
Iron fallout and tar removal
And clay.

And if Friday holds up I'll do another decon wash
PB black hole
LSP.

Autoglanz has a juicy sale on!

Finally found my spray wax of choice. AG PRIZM at a good price.

haven't noticed any discussions/opinions on here -
Use a mousse/spray-can upholstery cleaner for car carpets which doesn't soak, like APC would, usually worked with a brush, and finally a wipe from a damp cloth.
(current foreign brand I have is abel auto)

Guys... In regards to BH Korrosol, did you ever have problems with it staining or damaging chrome plastic?

My car has a far bit of chrome.
But then plenty of cars have chrome here and there so I'm guessing it's fine just of course don't let it dry on.

I used it on an Audi A3 with a fair amount of Chrome with no issues.

Feel like I only used it on an extremely cool day and didn’t allow it to dwell for a long time just to be cautious.

Reading online… Auto Finesse Iron Out, Car Pro Iron X which I believe have the same active ingredient as BH - Korrosol claim to be safe on Chrome.

That’s just my user experience though, it’s meant for paintwork and a lot of cars will have chrome trims.

Can anyone recommend a good vacuum specifically with car interior cleaning in mind. Hose length is important! Bigger the better :D

I currently use an upright but I’m always scared of potentially knocking it over into the car, the extension on mine is rubbish and the attachments aren’t great either.
So far I’ve had a quick look at Karcher but leaning towards a heavy duty Titan of some sort… Any suggestions?

I already have a Wet Vacum so this isn’t essential, I know most are both Wet and Dry but thought I’d still mention.

I know you said you already have a wet vac already, and not sure how you feel about parkside stuff. But could

be worth it?
