What would be a fair price for a detailing company to wash, decontaminate, wax and ceramic coat a medium size SUV. I was quoted £500 for the first part and £295 for the ceramic coat. Guy at the garage said ceramic coating is oversold it’s not as great as everyone tries to make you believe. PV coat the front end is the way to go, add that in I’d have been looking at £1,200

Car would be in the garage for four days

For the record it’s a 2 year old car done 11,000 miles paintwork looks okay

Car was pretty grimey and with a cold snap on its way I washed the car in the rain yesterday, saved drying it.

Wasn't mega filthy, but it was getting there.

Just had to have some damage to my car fixed, which meant a large setion repainted/clear coated.

How long should I leave it before re applying some protection? I iamgine this time of year with the cold, I should probably leave it for a few weeks?

It takes three months for it to fully cure.

Progress of both the Corvette and R8 getting the full works at AutoBrite UK, so machine polishing to entire vehicles (body, glass, wheels) and their 5yr ceramic coating, progress photos as it takes 3-5 days per car:

Results are incredible and the purple velvet Audi exclusive paint is really popping. :)

Re polished, ceramic coated and hydrophobic coated the bonnet, as I wasn’t happy with the quality of the work I had done previously.

Not sold on microfibre polishing pads. First time I used them (to do the car the first time) and found their cutting ability to be as good as foam, but left a milky haze. Likely to be user error though! :p

Any recommendation on some decent alloy wheel brushes? Had cheap purchases and they just go out of shape or breakdown so with the winter want something that is quick and effective to tidy up wheels once applied BH Sufex HD and Auto Foam.
