Anyone ever followed Carb Backloading diet and seen good results?

Looking at the book I should be able to follow it quite easily into my schedule and eating patterns.

It does certain things... A number of people on here have tried it, including myself.

I just found I couldn't keep up the backloading requirements from both a cost and time perspective, and my training regime needed more... So I use a very loose version of it at the moment - more for insulin control than anything else.

Did ?I get shredded? No, but I lost a couple of percentage points of fat. Did I get strong? No... Unless I spent the previous evening eating carbs. Literally all evening. Otherwise recovery was non-existent.

Did this for a short while, I found it useful for removing any phobia I had about carbs making me bloated, watery or fat. And dispelling myths like eating carbs late at night resulting in higher fat gain.

Agreed with mrthingyx in general.

Weight gain/loss comes down to calories at the end of the day. I've found that my nutritional protocol follows a hybrid now of carb backloading, IF and flexible dieting / IIFYM.

Since trying & stopping CBL I've been naturally inclined to consume carbs mostly post workout. I am however shortly going to be moving away from lower carb rest days in favour of either moderate carb rest days or the same macro's on training and rest days (currently use the leangains approach).

In a nutshell it's a nice little experiment but until you acquire the appetite required to consume a couple/several hundred grams of carbohydrates in an evening you're in for some discomfort and going to lose your evenings to eating.

Edit: You might find you also develop a sweet tooth and some own personal battles!

Thanks for the responses.

Thinking of doing it but adjusting to eat cleaner carbs post workout.

My aim is to reduce my bodyfat percentage.

Did your bodyfat reduction make it worth while?

best way to lose weight is dont eat a lot. I dont recommend a diet, just eat healthy. Try to avoid fastfood and softdrinks/alcohol as much as possible.
