The Hydrojet is a hybrid cooler that features a mix of liquid and air cooling which hopes to return extreme cooling performance. Whilst the carbon core is an unknown quantity at this time the 100% self contained liquid cooling system mixed in with a double-pass air cooling does seems to be impressive, on paper at least.

Looks funky and could perform well :D

Cool! But it's just ruined my plan to purchase the Coolermaster Geminii!

Oh well! Let's see how it does - looks very interesting! :)

This potentially could be very decent. We'll have to wait and see though because there are a lot of these innovative designs which just fizzle out.

I can't see it being that cheap either, but I reckon OCZ might be onto something here...

It won't be quiet if it is to perform, the old noise v performance tussle. It's relying on the superior conductivity of the overall design to have a lower air flow in order to overcome the noise. Conductivity of heat is the critial factor in cooling. There is no other magic/innovative factor to cooling and conductivity relies on fluid flow. It's all gimmicks when the conductivity of the designs are roughly the same. Most designs fail to reach the limit given by the overall conductivity because of non-optimal fluid/air flow.

The con within all these "multiplicity of choice" offerings is that they make people think that there is a certain magic formula to be had which there isn’t. It’s all to do with profit margins which limit the design goals, not so much the lacking in design prowess. The current game is at the limit of diminishing returns because competiton is equalised. When there are too many variables to contend with, including CPU and user proficiency variability, it’s hard to narrow down the superiority of a particular design. The reason why so many designs come onto the market is because of the profit margin. A 50-cent saving can translate to big money within the product cycle. It’s not so much a matter of supply & demand. It’s about the puppet & puppeteer.
